It addresses two major themes: thinking socially and the impact of social science as a force for global change. The book emphasizes the development of critical skills through a significant component of engaged learning. It also focuses on studies about contemporary society. The media for instance and how they impact on different groups in society; the changing cultures within our society; the participation and relationship society have to politics. This unit course will be taught four times a week. This subject entails reading and research tasks to prepare students for class discussion and assignments. The teaching/learning strategy for this book will have an emphasis on 'active learning' for the learner in developing an understanding of the subject matter and its relevance to society. | ||
